After much consideration for the safety
of our students, parents and staff, MPC-CDC will be closed Friday,
January 31st. Union County Public Schools have already
announced they will be on a 2 hour delay. The National Weather
Service is calling for temperatures to dip to 17 degrees this
evening. Formation of black ice and continued icy conditions on
driveways and roads are possible in the areas where our preschool
families and staff will be driving. With our already full classes,
when considering substitute teachers to possibly cover classes we
must consider extra children being in the classrooms. Safety is a
top priority in our program and this situation would not be ideal.
This has been a record winter and we
are all hoping the groundhog doesn't see his shadow on Sunday! We
have already scheduled two fun-filled makeup days on Tuesday,
February 18 and Monday, April 21. More information to come. Thank
you for your patience as we adapt to long delays, record weather and
keeping classrooms adequately staffed for safety reasons.
